This hands-on role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting ICA (Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) systems across water distribution and treatment facilities. You’ll collaborate closely with the ICS Project Engineer to deliver reliable and efficient process control systems that support our commitment to water quality and operational excellence.The RoleKey Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and calibration of ICA systems (e.g., flow meters, pressure sensors, level transmitters, PLCs, SCADA)Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation and control equipmentAssist in commissioning and integrating new systems and upgradesSupport project engineers with ICA-related planning and executionMaintain accurate documentation (maintenance logs, calibration certificates, fault reports)Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standardsLiaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teamsProvide flexible out-of-hours standby support on an ad hoc basisOperate in line with Operational Technology standards and company integrity policiesSupport ICA innovation and capital delivery processesRepresent the OT team in cross-departmental meetingsDeliver training to operational and departmental colleaguesTravel occasionally to South Staffordshire regionWhat You’ll NeedProven experience in ICA systems within the water or utilities sectorStrong understanding of electrical, instrumentation, and control principlesAbility to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PLC logicSkilled in fault finding and maintaining field instruments and control panelsFamiliarity with SCADA/PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi)Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, including Permit to Work and Risk AssessmentsHNC/HND in a relevant engineering disciplinePC literate with strong communication skillsKnowledge of risk assessmentsFull valid UK driving licenceQualification in a water industry-related discipline - DesirableExperience with water industry processes - DesirableUnderstanding of water quality regulations - DesirableThis role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of vital water infrastructure.
