Finance Business Partner required for a large UK Construction Group (Hybrid – 3 days in the office) We are partnering with a well‑established and highly regarded large construction and infrastructure business operating across multiple regions in the UK. With a strong project pipeline and ambitious growth plans, the business plays a key role in delivering complex, high‑value construction programmes across commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors. Finance is central to driving performance, controlling risk and supporting strategic decision‑making. As a Finance Business Partner, you will support a major operational division, working closely with senior operational, commercial and project teams to provide financial insight, challenge performance and drive profitable growth across a large portfolio of construction projects. Reporting into the Senior Finance Leadership team, you will act as a trusted commercial partner, providing forward‑looking insight, identifying risks and opportunities, and ensuring robust financial control across your business area. Key Requirements Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Strong background in business partnering, commercial finance or FP&A within construction, engineering or project‑based environments Proven project accounting experience within a contract or project‑led business Proven experience partnering with operational and site‑based teams Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence at senior level Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability Experience with long‑term contracts, WIP, cash flow and cost/value reconciliations desirable Key Responsibilities Act as a strategic finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders Lead financial reporting and performance analysis for a portfolio of construction projects or a major business unit Partner with project teams on profitability, cost control, margin protection and forecasting Manage budgeting and rolling forecast processes, ensuring accuracy and accountability Deliver robust variance analysis with clear actions to improve performance Provide strong oversight of cash flow, WIP, revenue recognition and project risks Support tenders, bids and investment appraisals with high‑quality financial input Drive continuous improvement in reporting, controls and financial processes The role is based within a collaborative and high‑performing finance team on a hybrid basis (3 days per week in the office).
