Aon aims to provide a tailored risk transfer approach as well as extensive risk management advice and services.We assist clients with their insurance buying decisions, aiming to optimize the balance of risk transfer and retention financing through valuation and analysis.Your RoleJoin our Commercial Risk Apprenticeship scheme as a valued and permanent employee from day one. You will support clients in managing their insurance programmes and risk identification. You will work with well-known brands, ensuring they have appropriate insurance cover across a wide range of products from property to cyber.You will join as a Business Support Specialist and play a key part in supporting clients and helping the team manage expectations and deliver on time.During your apprenticeship, you will build professional relationships with colleagues and clients and develop your professional skills and career progression.What the Day Will Look LikeYou will be part of a team from day one, supporting the delivery of client-facing activitiesAssisting in the day-to-day running of client risk and insurance programmesCarrying out administrative tasks contributing to the broking processBuilding strong working relationships with insurersOpportunities to support our attendance at industry networking eventsYour DevelopmentAs an Aon Apprentice you will be enrolled onto our development programme when you join. This programme is built around 3 core elements:Business learning – on‑job learning and experiences giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the team and solution line you have joinedCentralised learning – UK apprentices complete an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to help you develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and your network across our businessProfessional Qualifications – we’ll fully support your study towards your level 4 Insurance Apprenticeship and Certificate in Insurance through the Chartered Insurance Institute professional qualification. You will receive paid study leave and extensive study and tuition materials.Supporting RelationshipsWith Aon business leaders playing an active role in our development, you’ll be encouraged to make the most of every networking opportunity. The early relationships you build will include:Your Apprentice Network – meet Apprentices from all areas of Aon in the UK, helping you navigate our business and grow a support network from day oneYour mentor – an experienced colleague who can help you with career guidance, specific issues or general queriesBusiness seniors – many experienced colleagues will be actively involved in your developmentThe Early Careers Team – help smooth the way, open doors and advise you on developing your knowledge, skills and prospectsYour Career Beyond the ApprenticeshipAfter completing the formal apprenticeship programme, you will continue to receive support at Aon. We would expect you to be promotion ready within 18 to 24 months and you will continue to grow your career in the insurance industry. At Aon, we’re committed to making our recruitment process as transparent and supportive as possible. Here’s how our selection journey works, and what you can expect at each stage:Application ReviewWe process applications on a rolling basis, moving candidates forward as they complete each stageEvery application is carefully reviewed by our team (not by AI)Due to the high volume of interest, this stage can take up to two weeksWe do not review CVs or cover letters at this pointVideo InterviewPreparation matters, so you’ll have up to 10 days (240 hours) from receiving your invitation to record and submit your video interviewEvery video interview is reviewed by a real member of our recruitment team, not an AI systemTypically, you’ll hear back within 2–3 weeks after submitting your interview, though times may vary depending on the number of applicationsAssessment CentresAssessment centres are held in person at the Aon office closest to the location you applied forNot every candidate who completes a video interview will be invited to an assessment centreIf selected, you’ll have 7–14 days’ notice to help you arrange any travelWe run a limited number of Assessment Centres and ask you to attend if invited; these will begin in February/March 2026We reimburse reasonable travel costs (such as standard class train tickets); flights and hotels are only covered if agreed in advanceAt the assessment centre stage, your CV and cover letter are shared with hiring managers to give a fuller picture of you as a candidate – these documents are not used for initial screeningHow We Support Our ColleaguesIn addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
