This role includes delivering a range of subjects across the curriculum to students aged 3-19 years-old, with additional learning needs (ALN). It is essential for this role that applicants have had previous experience in creating teaching environments where students are nurtured and encouraged. Who we are looking for Individuals with experience teaching in SEN schools. Individuals with a coherent and in-depth understanding of ALN and how to carter to them via independent learning plans. Educators who create fun and exciting environments where learning and self-exploration can take place. Individuals who remain calm under pressure and who are highly empathetic during challenging situations. Teachers who can support their fellow members of staff and lead by example in their behaviour and attitude throughout the school. About the School The school is based in Penarth and has a pupil base of 500 approx. ranging from 3-19-year-olds all with ALN. The ALN include but are not limited to Autistic Spectrum disorder (ASD), profound, multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), and physical disabilities (PD). Although the school is face-paced and high-pressure you will always have the unconditional support from your fellow staff and dedicated head teacher. The school is consistently looking to push to new heights in developing the SEN education sector. Namely, they were recently coined as award-winning due to the incorporation of innovative technology into their curriculum to further support students with participation in lessons. The school also strives to enhance the lives of their students outside the classroom and regularly lines up outdoor excursions for classes.
