Head Chef (Bank) Westbank care Home, 64 Sevenoaks Road, Borough Green, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN15 8AP Join us and make a positive impact in your local community. Do you enjoy cooking and have experience in managing a kitchen? Are you able to work alongside residents in a Care Home to cater for their meals? What does the job role involve? Co‑coordinate all aspects of the kitchen so that food is prepared to the agreed standard and deadlines are met. Implement and supervise all aspects of kitchen control: menus, hygiene, health and safety, staff, cleaning and waste control. Identify and recruit all grades of staff within the agreed guidelines. Supervise and develop staff. Order catering consumables. Ensure all staff adhere to HACCP and that all documentation is completed and signed by the appropriate members of staff. Complete monthly audits for kitchen reporting any findings to the Home Manager. Prepare menus for the nursing home considering content, balance, colour and nutritional values within the agreed budget. Consult with residents regularly to ensure their needs and choices are met. Prepare special diets for residents as directed by nursing staff. Maintain agreed stock levels of food. Implement and maintain an agreed deep‑cleaning schedule for the kitchen. Carry out stock takes at the end of each month. Implement a four‑weekly rota. Work within agreed budget guidelines. Assist in the preparation of function menus and costing. Co‑operate with requests from the Home Manager and residents wherever possible. Attend resident/relative meetings whenever possible. Carry out staff supervision adhering to home policies. Complete all staff personal development reviews. Perform any ad‑hoc duties to meet service delivery for our residents and home. What Makes a Successful Candidate Previous Head Chef experience. Experience managing a team. Knowledge in planning balanced menus. Able to cater for specific dietary needs. Good communication skills. Ability to follow and prioritise tasks and responsibilities. Engage well with people we support in their continuing interests and supporting positive experiences. Able to work well as part of a team and independently.
