Job Description Part-Time Business & Finance Analyst(20 hours a week | Hybrid working available | Permanent | East Lothian) Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a flexible, impactful role where your insights really make a difference? We’re working with a well-established, values-driven organisation that’s looking for a Business & Finance Analyst to support their Head of Finance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking with hands‑on financial management. The Role You’ll play a key part in delivering accurate financial analysis, business reporting, and data insights to help guide both day‑to‑day operations and longer‑term strategy. Leading a small, capable finance team, you’ll ensure robust delivery of all core finance functions while also supporting process improvements and systems development. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including commentary on results and forecasts Reconcile payroll, balance sheet, and nominal ledger accounts Support with VAT returns and statutory reporting Produce financial and business intelligence reports for senior management Manage and develop two Finance Assistants Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and ad‑hoc forecasts Lead or support on finance system improvements and process efficiencies Provide analytical support for senior leadership on key projects and performance monitoring About You A finance professional with solid experience in management accounting, analysis, and reporting Strong systems and Excel skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy Comfortable leading small teams and managing day‑to‑day finance operations Analytical, proactive, and confident in communicating with non-financial colleagues Ideally AAT qualified (or working towards), or equivalent experience If you’re seeking a flexible, part-time position that combines financial management and meaningful business insight, this could be an excellent next step.
