Join to apply for the Northern Ireland- Environmental Adjuster role at Crawford & Company.ResponsibilitiesTo proactively manage a mixed portfolio of domestic, commercial, environmental and agricultural claims from cradle to grave in a manner that supports the customer and partners our insurer clients brand and values.To undertake a comprehensive investigation to establish cause of damage / extent of loss and cover, setting a strategy with the customer for case conclusion understanding each individual demand and likely outcomes.To work in tandem with the internal team to understand and prioritise what matters to the customer – ensure quality visit takes place by undertaking value add preparation.To ensure that time spent adds value to the claims life cycle – apply expertise to undertake value work – right time, right place to actively control costs and reduce indemnity spend.To continually review claim activity to identify potential blockages and reduce failure demand.To take sole responsibility for every claim personally handled and enhance customer journey by ensuring all parties are kept informed and work collaboratively with key stakeholders to build on end to end flow.To ensure technical aspects are referred to the in-house Scientist for review.To write meaningful reports and provide insurer updates that support effective settlement / claim conclusion.To build strong relations with colleagues, brokers, agents and suppliers to ensure seamless claims handling service.To be the customer facing representative of Crawford & Company - promote the Company’s ethics and values and focus on customer experience.QualificationsUndertake the management and handling of a portfolio of complex and technical environmental claims.To visit residential, commercial and agricultural properties.Post holder will be required to liaise with internal colleagues and external stakeholders – Policyholders, Clients, Brokers, Suppliers.Builds trust and respect by keeping commitments made.Ensures all activities and decisions improve the service provided for clients.Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude and is solution oriented to focus on systems improvement.Is passionate about the customer and shows a flexible attitude to meet the needs of the customer.Enjoys being a team player and openly shares knowledge and skills with team.Proven ability to meet deadlines.Loss adjusting background – experience of handling large caseload and losses up to £100k.Ideally possess Insurance qualification (ACII or ACILA) but essential to show commitment to study and gain knowledge.Sound knowledge of the claims handling process – demonstrates knowledge of how the claims notification, investigation and settlement process is managed for a complex claim.Sound knowledge of the principles of insurance, and the related insurance products and services – demonstrates understanding of the core principles of insurance and how this is applied to claims management.Sound knowledge and understanding of insurance regulation and laws which affect insurance practice - demonstrates understanding of regulatory requirements and how to meet these on day to day basis.Sound technical skills to proactively investigate, negotiate and settle property related claims.Good problem solving skills to identify failure demand and initiate resolution.Excellent analytical skills to quickly identify what matters to the customer to conclude claim efficiently.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information in a clear and concise way.Well developed interpersonal skills to build rapport and manage customer and client expectations.Good influencing and negotiation skills to settle claims fairly and promptly.Flexible approach – the job holder may be required to travel throughout the UK as and when appropriate.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinance and SalesIndustriesInsuranceReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Crawford & Company by 2xGet notified about new Adjuster jobs in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom.We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
