SEMH Teaching Assistants – Full-time or Part-time, starting as soon as possible We are seeking committed SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across a variety of school settings. Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs Assist teachers in creating a calm and inclusive classroom environment Implement behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans Support pupils’ emotional well-being and encourage positive social interactions Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals Promote resilience and independence in pupils through tailored interventions Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs in an educational setting Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies Ability to build trusting and positive relationships with pupils Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Why Step Teachers?
