We reimagine the possible across the nuclear industry every day.As a Mechanical Support Engineer, you will work in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders, and the Engineering Team to implement solutions to high engineering standards, both design and technical and in compliance with statutory regulations by ensuring that industry best practice is followed, including PSSR, PUWER and LOLER. You will support all aspects the lifecycle of a chemical plant from design through to decommissioning.You will improve the mechanical engineering, provide coaching and leading a culture of continuous improvement within the team.Reporting to the Plant Manager you will maintain the mechanical engineering competency standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEfficient engineering support for operational areasManage schedules, frequencies, maintenance of assetsMaintain compliance with regulatory and safety case requirementsImprove all aspects of plant and personnel safetyDefine, improving Key Performance IndicatorsProcess mapping for identification and delivery plant improvementsProvide advice on technical aspects of plant operations including technical and operational problem solvingAttend T-Week planning meetings and ensure work is scheduledProduce / author maintenance instructions, engineering reports and technical documentation.Develop and coach plant personnelQualifications:Able to work to challenging timescalesExperience of maintenance methodologies e.g. RCMYou can work in a controlled area.Mechanical engineering experience in a COMAH-regulated environment.Years of experience with operations support, scheduled maintenance, and project delivery.Problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities.Knowledge of nuclear site license conditions and ONR guidance.Familiar with PSSR and Written Schemes of Examination.Responsible for engineering safety and regulatory compliance.Expertise in mechanical reliability, statutory regulations, and process safety in hazardous settings.Why Westinghouse?We know that to put forth your best effort, you need to be challenged and enjoy what you do in a supportive and respectful environment.
