You will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), including doctors and other care services, to manage complex orthopaedic and musculoskeletal cases You will collaborate closely with the Orthopaedics Therapy Service and the Principal Physiotherapist to develop and deliver inpatient Orthopaedic Physiotherapy services, support staff development, and contribute to clinical audit and research. Job Summary • Assess patients’ understanding of treatment proposals and obtain valid informed consent. • Communicate effectively, providing education and support to patients, families and carers. • Facilitate pre‑operative education for patients undergoing elective Total Hip and Knee replacement. • Use verbal and non‑verbal communication skills with patients who have barriers such as intubation, tracheostomy, altered perception, pain and cultural differences. • Coordinate early discharge planning and contribute to ward rounds as a member of the MDT. • Organise formal and informal training and education for physiotherapy staff, other healthcare professions and students.
