Responsibilities:
  • Overlooking the lab platform consisting of two or more departments.
  • Optimizing NGS protocols and automation of laboratory procedures.
  • To confirm with all site quality management systems and health & safety procedures (ISO17025, GCLP, Human Tissue Act (2004)).
  • Monitor project progress and quality, effectively communicate with relevant teams/departments; ensure projects are delivered within the turnaround time (TAT) and meet the quality requirement.
  • Formulate and update the production plans according to projection, arrange pipeline to ensure smooth operation.
  • Instruct team leaders to carry out production data summary and statistical analysis. Ensure all relevant information is documented and archived. Be responsible for conducting department's reports.
  • Establish responsibilities for members by roles and technical levels, supervise them to perform their duties.
  • Other tasks assigned by line manager.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, or similar subject is required, with a minimum of five-year production laboratory experience and two years of team management experience of more than 10 staff.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and the commitment to successfully deliver to tight deadlines are essential.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail are a must for both laboratory and office-based work.
  • Strong and open communication skills are essential.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Experience of using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is advantageous.
  • Experience in PCR, qPCR, and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based analysis is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Chinese is preferable for HQ reporting.
