OverviewA&P Falmouth- FitterHome to one of the world’s largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth’s facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK.Whether it's working on the ships in our docks or performing vital maintenance, we may have a place for you. We are looking for Fitters to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our Fitters complete mechanical overhaul, repair, renew and modification of vessel equipment and systems.ResponsibilitiesFit and assemble mechanical components and systems onboard ships according to engineering specifications and drawings and specificationsCarry out maintenance and repairs on various vessels, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and structural issuesAssist in the overhaul, repair, renew or modification of vessel’s main engines, generators, compressors and moreEnsure compliance with safety protocols and standardsQualificationsYou’ll have experience as a Fitter or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environmentYou\'ll be able to interpret and understand technical drawingsYou\'ll have excellent teamwork and communication skillsYou\'ll have good attention to detail and a logical, analytical and proactive approach to problem-solvingWhy join usSalary circa £35k per annum + overtime and shift premiumsThis is an opportunity to work with and learn from a team of experts from the marine engineering industry with excellent opportunities for career growth and progression across the businessBenefits including:Minimum 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays4% pension contribution and a generous death in service benefitLife cover at 7X your basic salaryCycle to Work SchemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeDue to the nature of what we do for some of the customers that we work with, some roles working for A&P are subject to security control restrictions.
