Role Description Working as part of the Technical team based on a 24/7 12‑hour shift pattern. Managing the microbiological testing of raw materials, finished product, water and environmental swabbing & monitoring processes. Providing results and recommendations. Maintaining CLAS microbiological accreditation including appropriate customer standards. Key Responsibilities Lead by example, ensuring safety, health & environmental controls. Monitor laboratory cleanliness and enforce “clean as you go.” Identify and report safety or environmental issues. Ensure proper PPE usage and compliance. Monitor and maintain microbiological testing methods and accreditation. Manage environmental monitoring, cleaning regimes and product contamination risks. Assist in new product development and microbiological safety assessments. Maintain laboratory equipment and comply with accreditation requirements. Participate in CIP & sterility validation, shelf‑life monitoring. Provide analytical testing support and cover shift absences. Co‑operate with Internal Audit to review site compliance. Report faults and investigations promptly. Support GMP/Hygiene improvements and house‑keeping reviews. Provide data to other departments for product specification compliance. Qualifications Current or former hygiene background in a manufacturing setting; FMCG experience advantageous. Experience with CIP (Clean‑In‑Place) management. Understanding of HACCP and microbiological principles. Strong knowledge of microbiology testing and CLAS accreditation. Ability to maintain food safety and quality standards.
