Job Details Location: Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 2BX (Hybrid working) Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part time) Hours: 37 per week, flexible working options available Contract: Permanent About the Role The Suffolk County Council IT department provides technology support to our six directorates – Adult Social Care, Children and Young People Services, Corporate Services, Fire and Public Safety and Growth Highways and Infrastructure, and Public Health and Communities. We are looking for motivated individuals who would like to support the delivery of public services in Suffolk. Your Role and Responsibilities You will have excellent troubleshooting and problem analysis skills, be a strong communicator and possess a good knowledge of the ITIL best practice framework. As this is a technical support role, a solid background in supporting line of business applications and associated technologies in a Windows Server environment would be advantageous. Lead on providing solutions to queries regarding Children and Young People Services applications and software. Channel requests for help to appropriate functions for resolution. Monitor progress of calls and keep users informed. What You Will Need Experience working in an operational support role with line of business systems and databases. Excellent customer service skills. Experience using varying technologies or applications including Windows Server, MS SQL and MySQL. Full list of requirements can be found in the Job and Person Profile (Word) document. The Team The IT Service, as part of the Corporate Services directorate, provides and supports Suffolk County Council’s technology requirements. You will work alongside experts in network, server, storage, applications, devices, cyber security and first line support, supporting colleagues across the organisation in a flexible working environment.
