Join to apply for the Senior CHC Appeals Nurse role at NHS Posted 24 November 2025 Job Summary The All Age Continuing Health Care (AACHC) team seek motivated registered nurses to support CHC Appeals and PUPoC. Work autonomously and collaboratively with community services and multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Assess patients following appeals of negative eligibility decisions. Review applications for PUPoC ensuring robust, evidence‑based assessments. Work jointly with health, social care and independent sector colleagues to gather evidence for assessments. Follow the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare and participate in MDT eligibility recommendations. Manage a complex clinical caseload comprising appeals and PUPoC cases. Provide clinical expertise on CHC appeals and PUPoC requests. Produce comprehensive reports and Needs Portrayal documents. Chair local resolution meetings with claimants and representatives. Work autonomously, manage a caseload and accept case coordinator responsibilities. Qualifications and Experience Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Previous experience undertaking CHC assessments. Knowledge of national and local guidance on NHS Continuing Healthcare and NHS‑Funded Care. Extensive nursing skills in adults with complex healthcare need. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Conversant with CHC Appeals Best Practice Guidance and current PUPoC Guidance. Educated to degree level or equivalent level of specialist experience. Desirable Knowledge of commissioning arrangements in CHC. Demonstrated experience progressing CHC appeals and PUPoC. Evidence of having undertaken a leadership role across boundaries. Benefits and Working Conditions Full-time, permanent, Band 6. Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum.
