Assistant Team Leader – Elim Housing Association Location: Alveston, Kingswood, Yate and Staple Hill • Pay: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum • Type: Full‑time, Permanent • Closing Date: Monday 8th Dec 2025 About the role The Forecastle is an accommodation‑based service funded by the local authority to deliver housing‑related support for 18 customers with low to medium support needs. The Forecastle and the RSAP service aim to help people who have experienced homelessness to find stable, long‑term homes and access employment and education. As Assistant Team Leader you will provide line management and support for the RSAP staff, lead the team in delivering a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based service, and collaborate with local authority and partner agencies. What you will be doing Work with the Team Leader to provide leadership to reduce repeat homelessness and improve outcomes for vulnerable adults. Direct line management, support and coaching for the RSAP staff, promoting ongoing professional development. Monitor the quality of support and housing management delivered by the team, using outcome tools and systems, and ensure a psychologically informed approach underpins support work. Maintain and secure the buildings under your remit in line with the Health and Safety compliance framework. Collect data and produce monthly and quarterly reports for South Gloucestershire Council in line with contractual requirements. Deliver centred and trauma‑informed support for people placed by the Local Authority. Work across services as required to maintain the wider support service. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. What you need to be successful Commitment and enthusiasm to supporting people in housing need. Understanding and application of safeguarding procedures to ensure customers and colleagues are safe. Knowledge of the effect of trauma on people’s development, emotional and physical wellbeing. Ability to develop the skills to manage and motivate a team of colleagues. Personal resilience, flexibility and willingness to develop your knowledge and skills.
