HGV Technician / Mechanic £49,000 - £53,300 Leyland Days Only (Mon‑Fri) gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a HGV & Plant Technician to work at their facility based near Leyland. Performance Objectives Carry out routine inspections, maintenance, repairs & MOTs on HGVs, Trailers, Pool Cars & Other Plant to VOSA standard. Diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical & electrical faults using Texa diagnostic equipment. Dismantle, repair/replace faulty components and test the new ones are working safely. Liaise with HGV workshop administrator to order vehicle parts. Good communication and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment. Person Specification 4+ Years of HGV/Plant Technician experience. Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent. Holds valid HGV Class 1 (C&E) Licence (Desirable). MOT Preparation Experience – Tractor Units & Trailers. Previous experience working with HGV’s and Plant, basic welding skills, hydraulic & auto electrical skills. Hardworking and can work well under pressure in a safe and responsible manner.
