About The Role We have a 6 bed residential home, supporting children with learning disabilities and complex needs. Be a part of developing our service and help make a difference to a young person's life every day. Position: Children's Support Worker/Carers Location: Studley (B80 postcode) Hours: Full-time, permanent, (Sleep in shifts are required however this will not be on every shift) When you do a sleep in, it's £55 per sleep - 9.30pm - 7.30am. WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP. About you Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting young people in their daily life? We are looking for Children’s Support Workers to join our team who have a passion for providing a high standard of support that enables young people to learn and develop through education and positive life experiences, stay healthy and most importantly, have a fun, fulfilling life. For Support Worker positions although an understanding of the role is desirable, it is not essential as training will be provided. We are looking for people who share these core values and are able to apply these to the work that you do. At the heart of the ethos are five key words, these underpin the PRIDE taken in the services. ‘Potential, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity, Empathy’ Qualifications Excellent communication skills Experience working with children Valid driver's license Knowledge of childcare practices Ability to create and implement care plans Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes The role You will provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower our young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents. Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice. The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day to day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care and hygiene.
