Our Lipsy customer is a leading lady; a woman who never says no to a touch of glamour - and why would she, when the world is her catwalk About the Job We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Designer to join our passionate and creative Lipsy Team. This role will be working across the Tops and Soft Separates Department. You will be responsible for identifying new key shapes and trends specific to the customer and delivering commercial products that fits the brand DNA. Contribute to the design, development and delivery of feminine, trend led tops & separates across jersey and woven. You will work closely with the Design and Buying teams to create best selling styles for the Lipsy customer. Liaise with factories and suppliers on a daily basis, ensuring smooth relationships and quality sampling You will identify new opportunities for trends and sourcing, through strong relationships and collaboration with your Buying team, suppliers and factories Research exciting emerging trends and brands for the tops & separates department, ensuring our customer focus by constantly evaluating customer types, trends and tendencies Create exciting mood, trend and colour boards seasonally in collaboration with the rest of the Design team Work alongside the Senior Designer and wider team on a daily basis to build an effective and motivational team environment Manage the development of long and short lead time ranges Create comprehensive and clear product tech packs for suppliers to follow accurately Work closely with Garment Technologists and attend fit sessions to ensure the product is looking its ultimate best Be budget aware, designing with cost effectiveness in mind Build strong relationships with factories to ensure a smooth working way and great samples Deliver superior product from concept to completion that represents key trends and commercial opportunities and creates a balanced rage Identify design opportunities in line with our brand Experienced in designing tops and separates across jersey and wovens is essential Creativity and innovation are key, alongside strong technical knowledge and skills Must be familiar with developing products out of various countries of origin such as China, India, Turkey and Dubai, and also happy to complete 2-4 long haul trips a year You will work closely with the departments buying and merchandising teams to deliver the range, fashion retail experience is crucial. Together you will create and present your seasonal strategy to senior management Able to liaise with suppliers to ensure your designs are interpreted correctly and achieve a high hit rate on sampling. Work together to source new fabrics and trims each season and be able to design into a price point without compromising detail Work in collaboration with the print team to develop beautiful in house prints for your product Be able to adapt and improve your designs based on feedback from buying and management, and react to current trade across the business. Confident, can do attitude with the ability to influence others. Must have strong presentation skills and be experienced in presenting to senior management. Must have excellent time management and be able to plan in line with critical paths to achieve option plan for key edit and sign off dates Responsible for working with the technical team and buying to ensure the correct fitting garment is delivered for production.
