Biomedical Field Worker - Kingston Upon Thames Department: Field Interviewers Employment Type: Part Time Location: Kingston Compensation: £20.40 / hour Description As a Biomedical Fieldworker, you’ll collect vital health data that helps shape public policy and improve the nation’s wellbeing. You’ll visit participants in their homes to gather biomedical information through conversation, physical measurements, and blood samples. Your work supports large-scale studies such as the Health Survey for England, the Scottish Health Survey, and the National Diet and Nutrition Survey. Conduct home visits with pre-arranged participants. Collect biomedical data, including physical measurements (height, weight, blood pressure). Perform venous blood sampling according to clinical standards. Represent the service with professionalism, care, and empathy. Ensure accurate data collection and participant confidentiality. You’re curious, confident, and committed to improving public health. You’ll work independently, so resilience and reliability are essential. Requirements Recent experience in a clinical or healthcare setting. Proven venepuncture skills (within the last 12 months). Current Hepatitis B immunity evidence. Full UK driving licence and access to a car. Stable home broadband connection. Minimum 12 hours availability per week (flexible schedule including evenings/weekends). Confident working alone in the community. Right to work in the UK. Strong verbal and written English. Average pay: £20.40/hour (during home visits). Performance bonus: £250 after 12, 24, and 36 appointments (£750 total). Mileage reimbursement: 36p per mile. Holiday pay: 12.1%. Training & support: Comprehensive onboarding and ongoing development. To be considered for this role, you’ll also need: Experience in a clinical or healthcare setting Venepuncture skills and evidence of taking venous blood samples in a previous role within the last 24 months The ability to provide evidence of your current immunity levels to Hepatitis B A full UK driving licence and access to a car Stable home broadband Availability for a minimum of 12 hours per week across weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends Confidence working alone in the communityThe right to work in the UK A high standard of verbal and written English Benefits & Pay Pay and Benefits This is a freelance role with flexible hours and performance-based pay.
