Housekeeping Assistant - Vita Group Location: York, England. Hourly Rate: £12.50. Contract: Permanent (14 hours per week). Working Hours: Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays, typically 10 am–3 pm. Responsibilities Provide an exceptional, personalised room cleaning service to students, ensuring studios are maintained to a clean, healthy and presentable standard. Perform scheduled cleaning duties including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, anti‑bacterial surface cleaning and bed making. Ensure facilities and room environments are respected by students and guests. Maintain the upkeep of our premium site & facilities. Respond to any issues or challenges that arise during cleaning, including incident or emergency situations. Maintain and manage waste management areas in accordance with health & safety regulations. Record & manage each studio clean using a smartphone/tablet, photographing before and after each clean. Report any concerning student behaviour that could indicate welfare concerns. Monitor cleaning stock levels, communicate needs to the Assistant Residence Manager or Residence Manager and assist in ordering stock. Follow "Control of Substances Hazardous to Health” (COSHH) regulations when using cleaning chemicals. Qualifications Experience in large, multi‑room residence facilities such as accommodation buildings, hotels or hospitals. Technologically astute, comfortable using a variety of systems and software. Good understanding of COSHH regulations and best practices. Personal Characteristics Welcomes a multicultural environment and demonstrates equal treatment for colleagues and residents. Excellent communication skills; English is primary, multilingual skills are welcomed. Adaptable, creative and positive. Resilient and able to navigate unexpected situations effectively. Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions. Flexible, capable of working 24/7 when required to ensure continuous resident service.
