We have provided expert commercial, technical and operational advice and created master plans across the five continents for a wide-range of port projects.We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port planning professionals and engineers globally and we are world leaders in the production of port feasibility studies, master plans and designs.About Our Edinburgh Team:The Edinburgh team comprises of approximately 16 Engineers, Project Managers and technicians delivering a wide range of Maritime projects and inspections in Scotland, throughout the UK and internationally. As the only Scottish office, the team in Leith is the focus for all the Maritime work in Scotland, and RHDHV are on a number of key Scottish frameworks for Engineering services. Within the Edinburgh office there is also a team of mechanical engineers and environmental scientists, and there is close collaboration between the different disciplines, as they work together on projects.What will you do:Collect and collate design dataCarry out inspections and surveysProduce design calculations, check and review calculations produced by others.Produce outline models, drawings and details for CAD (in Revit environment if you can but detailed drafting/modelling by modellers), check and review these prior to issuePrepare draft Bills of Quantities, Contract Documents and Specifications.Prepare reports and presentations.Undertake structural analyses and reporting.Provide engineering judgement and advice; contribute to preparation of study reportsManage and direct more junior staffCoach junior staff in technical mattersAutonomy and responsibility to work on the projects you find interestingProduce proposals and work directly with our clients.What you bring:Essential:BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural EngineeringMaster’s degree in Civil/Structural EngineeringCEng MICE or CEng MIStructEGood communicator (written and verbal)Good team player.Commercially aware.Professional experience in planning and design of maritime structuresFamiliarity with international maritime and structural engineering standards, manuals etcWilling to travel occasionally throughout the UK and overseasDesirable:At least 5 years of experienceKnowledge / Experience of working to BIM Level 2Maritime specific civil engineering experience will be an advantageAwareness of industry procedures and best practiceDemonstrable experience in applying technology to improve productivityExcellent technical track recordWhat we offer you:Ambitious.
