Job Overview Are you a compassionate and motivated clinical leader with a passion for HIV care and improving sexual health outcomes? We are seeking an experienced Clinical Team Leader (Band 8a) to join our forward‑thinking team at the Mortimer Market Centre in Camden. In this key leadership role you will work closely with the Service Manager and senior clinicians to oversee the daily operational running of the HIV and ISH services — ensuring high standards of clinical care, patient safety, and service performance. You will provide visible leadership to a skilled multidisciplinary team, supporting staff to deliver evidence‑based, person‑centred care for people living with HIV and those accessing sexual health services, with a particular focus on GBMSM communities. You will play a central role in developing inclusive, innovative, and responsive care pathways that reflect the needs and experiences of the diverse populations we serve. Main Duties As Clinical Team Leader (HIV and Integrated Sexual Health) you will: Lead and support a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist HIV and sexual health care. Take day‑to‑day responsibility for service planning, performance management, and workforce coordination to ensure continuity and quality of care. Provide visible, supportive leadership that promotes staff wellbeing, professional development and clinical excellence. Oversee effective financial and resource management in collaboration with the Service Manager. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, care pathways and service improvements that enhance patient experience and outcomes. Support clinical governance, quality improvement, and audit initiatives across the service. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including commissioners, voluntary sector partners and community organisations. Deliver direct clinical care within your scope of practice, including assessment, treatment and health promotion for people living with HIV and those accessing sexual health services. Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential criteria: RGN (NMC Sub‑part 1 Adult branch) University certificate or equivalent in HIV and/or Sexual Health training Nurse prescribing course or willingness to train Qualification/training in management and/or leadership Desirable criteria: Certificate in mentorship course or equivalent LOC (IUC) or equivalent LOC (SDI) or equivalent Previous Experience Essential criteria: Substantial experience working in a multidisciplinary team Substantial experience of operationally managing and coordinating a team Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others Experience of managing and motivating a team and reviewing performance of the individuals Experience in managing and leading a team through change Experience of delivering training to colleagues Substantial experience in line managing staff Skills and Knowledge Essential criteria: Ability to problem solve, negotiate and influence where appropriate Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult issues, working to tight and often changing timescales Strategic thinking – ability to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise Able to collect analyse and make judgements about complex information Ability to develop and maintain high standards of communication both orally and in writing with people about difficult matters and / in difficult situations Ability to prioritise and plan own workload to meet deadlines and competing demands Ability to work across different agencies and services and sites Ability to provide complex and sensitive messages and information in often challenging situations where there is a need to win support or gain understanding #J-18808-Ljbffr
