Learning Support Assistant

Role Learning support assistant | Start Date: ASAP | working days: Mon - Fri Qualifications & Experience To be successful in this role, candidates should have prior experience working with children—particularly those with additional or complex needs such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties. A qualification in supporting teaching and learning (e.g. Level 2 or 3) is desirable, though a positive attitude, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education are essential. You will need to be adaptable, patient, and confident in working 1:1 or in small groups to meet a variety of learning and emotional needs. Roles and Responsibilities Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND, ensuring their individual learning needs are met. Work 1:1 with children or in small groups to deliver personalised interventions and learning activities. Assist the class teacher in planning and adapting lessons to suit diverse learning abilities. Promote social, emotional, and academic development through encouragement and empathy. Support children with behavioural, communication, or sensory needs in maintaining focus and confidence. Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing updates with the class teacher and SENCo. Uphold safeguarding procedures and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment. Why Choose Zest Education?
