Department: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Location: GB JOB PURPOSE We are seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Architect to join our Enterprise IT team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an opportunity to shape the foundations of our global technology landscape, blending modern cloud solutions with the resilience of on-premises infrastructure. As a Cloud & Infrastructure Architect, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising cloud and on-premises infrastructure solutions that support the organisation’s global technology strategy. Working closely with the Lead Technical Architect (Cloud & Infrastructure), you will help define architectures spanning Azure, AWS, VMware, and hybrid environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise standards.This secondment provides an excellent opportunity for career development, offering exposure to complex, enterprise-level technology projects and architectural governance. RESPONSIBILITIES Shape and execute Burberry’s Cloud & Infrastructure strategy across on-premises and cloud platforms. Design end-to-end architectures for Azure, AWS, and VMware data centres, covering compute, storage, backup, and networking. Drive modernisation and migration initiatives, enabling hybrid models that support global operations. Develop secure, resilient network designs—WAN, LAN, VPN, and cloud interconnects. Collaborate with architects across domains to ensure integration and consistency. Champion automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deliver efficiency and agility. Provide technical assurance and governance for enterprise-level projects. PERSONAL PROFILE Experienced in cloud and infrastructure architecture (3–5 years), with hybrid environments expertise. Skilled in Azure and/or AWS, VMware, and network design principles. Familiar with IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation. Collaborative and communicative, able to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Certifications in cloud or infrastructure (Azure, AWS, VMware, Cisco) are a plus.
