Overview of the role The role of the Senior Social Care Worker is to provide support and guidance to a team of social care workers, whilst making sure you always provide the highest level of care and leadby example. You will also liaise with the seniors in the home reporting any matters of concern. You must have experience in the care sector and have the willingness to learn and expand on your previous knowledge. Not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll be able to enjoy days out, trips away and join in with many more activities, all of which ensures the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Key duties Taking the lead withsupporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a residential care environment Supervising a team and assisting withthe overall management of the home Liaising with managers and other shift leaders Executing any tasks allocatedin a professional, timely and accuratemanner Supervisingand sharingmealtimes with residents to encourage a positive attitude towards food and dining Assisting residents in their daily activitieswhether this be in or away from the home Using your initiative when supporting residents during their activities and with day-to-day tasks Personal attributes Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player anda good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Senior Social Care Worker. Opened in 2018, Ravenna Lodge is a highly-specified, purpose-built residential home that supports 11 men and women with mental health conditions and associated complex needs. Residents at Ravenna enjoy a relaxed, community environment, and are supported by staff and our Positive Behaviour Support Team to develop life skills and self-confidence as a pathway to more independent living. Everyone has their own tailored activity schedule, based on individual needs and preferences. Ravenna Lodge is located north east of Andover. Both Newbury and Winchester are about 20 miles away.
