Working with experienced engineers, you’ll learn our development lifecycle, contribute to deliverables, and grow your skills through hands‑on projects, mentorship, and training.Translate requirements into design, implementation, and verification for embedded softwareFollow defined standards, procedures, and quality requirements for regulated environmentsPrepare and present technical findings to internal stakeholdersDocument designs, code, tests, and results consistent with engineering policiesParticipate in cross‑functional initiatives and team stand‑upsShare ideas openly and help improve team practices and toolsProvide timely updates on risks, issues, and progress; support short‑term planning to resolve blockersRequired QualificationsDegree in Computer Science, Software, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experienceProgramming experience in at least one of C/C++ or Python; familiarity with version controlUnderstanding of embedded systems concepts (e.g., interrupts, memory, real‑time constraints) from coursework, projects, or internshipsStrong problem‑solving, teamwork, and communication skillsCuriosity and willingness to learn new tools, processes, and domains; dependable at planning and prioritizing tasksDesired CharacteristicsExperience of the software design lifecycle within aerospace, automotive or similar development environment, this could have been gained through a placement / internship, or from direct work experienceExposure to real‑time operating systems (RTOS) or safety‑critical developmentKnowledge of DO-178CKnowledge of model based designAt GE Aerospace we understand the importance of Total Reward.
