Student Community Officer – Kingston College Fixed Term Contract (January-September 2026) Do you have a passion for working with young people in a vibrant education setting? We are looking for an experienced youth work professional who can work closely with the enrichment team, Student Services and curriculum staff at the main Kingston Hall Road site. As a Student Community Officer you will support Curriculum, Student Services and Security Teams in positively engaging students, particularly those at risk or hard to reach. Your role will include: Providing a positive ethos within the College community, promoting enrichment and holistic Student Services. Being an engaging, welcoming onsite presence during College Day, signposting enrichment and promoting positive attitudes, inclusivity and behaviour. Delivering early intervention support strategies for identified students at risk. Maintaining appropriate personal boundaries and managing challenging behaviour through de‑escalation, negotiation, restorative approaches and conflict resolution. Working collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary service and college team, handling IT and online data administration, producing accurate reports and statements. Closing date for applications: 15th December 2025. Interviews: January 2026. You will be required to hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant discipline (e.g., youth work, youth justice, social care) and have experience of outreach or detached youth work. Experience working with young people in a school or college setting and knowledge of issues affecting attendance are essential.
