Assistant Psychologist The closing date is 26 December 2025 We are recruiting an Assistant Psychologist within our Community Therapies Service. The post will include supporting audit and research activity, literature review, and reviewing patient notes. There will be direct clinical work delivered to individual patients or as part of a group. Main duties of the job To undertake psychological assessment of service users including reviewing patient notes, self‑report measures, rating scales and semi‑structured interviews with patients, family members and others involved in the service user’s care. This work involves a high degree of concentration and mental effort over extended periods of time. The administration of psychometric measures requires a high degree of hand‑eye dexterity. To undertake some individual therapeutic work with service users in collaboration with the practitioner psychologist and some independently with regular supervision and support from the practitioner psychologist. To produce concise, comprehensive psychological reports following assessment, under supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. To attend and contribute to appropriate multi‑disciplinary meetings. Person Specification Qualifications BSc (Hons) in Psychology 2:1 or above Eligibility for graduate basis for registration (GBR) Counselling / therapy training Experience Prior clinical experience as a support worker, nursing assistant or other role that involves direct contact with clients with complex mental health needs Experience of working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team Experience of carrying out psychometric tests, including administering and scoring Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
