OverviewJoin to apply for the Strategic Communications Associate role at Financial Conduct Authority.Division: Communications • Department: Strategic Communications & NewsResponsibilitiesSupporting senior communications colleagues in engaging relevant trade bodies, while gaining valuable experience in shaping and delivering key communicationTriaging all reactive media queries, supporting key announcements and ensuring national queries are fed through to relevant senior communications colleagues where appropriateMonitoring media, social media and other commentary to produce coverage updates, while responding effectively to trade media inquiriesAssisting senior communications colleagues to deliver significant proactive announcements, while independently managing lower-profile announcements where appropriateTaking ownership for projects, delivering high-quality outcomes while strengthening your skills within a dynamic communications environmentDeveloping the strategic approach for priority areas to deliver FCA communication plan outcomes, whilst building subject matter expertise in specific areas of financial regulationMinimum requirementsPrevious experience of managing communication projects and/or dealing with mediaProven experience in a role which has required strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to cultivate and manage stakeholder relationships across all levelsExperience of developing communication plans and products into communication goals, clear key messages and engaging content for diverse audiencesEssentialStrong knowledge of traditional and social mediaExperience of working with Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrate ability to collaborate effectively within a team while maintaining the flexibility to work independently and take initiativesFamiliar with relevant communication tools used for media and social media monitoringAbility to adapt and react to changing circumstances, adjusting priorities as needed and a willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilitiesDemonstrate an interest and understanding in the FCA’s work, its operations, and the wider financial services sectorSalary, grade and locationSalary: National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £39,100 to £45,633.33 and London from £41,600 to £48,533.33 (salary offered will be based on skills and experience)This role is graded as: Associate – Level 8 – CorporateHow to applyYour recruitment contact is Rumana Hussain via Rumana.Hussain@fca.org.uk.
