The school is seeking someone confident in communicating and interacting with young people and supporting them with their social, emotional and mental health needs. Behaviour Support Assistant – Southampton – Term time only – ASAP Start Responsibilities of a Behaviour Support Assistant: Working with children in the classroom setting Working with students one-to-one Acting as a positive role model to students Taking an interest in and supporting the well-being of students Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant: Has experience working with young people, this could be as a Sports Coach, Dance Leader, Scout Leader or something similar Has a positive attitude Can engage children in and out of the classroom Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs. Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies. Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies. To work with GSL Education as a Behaviour Support Assistant you should: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education. All the while, the role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
