One Stop - Shift Leader Apply for the Shift Leader role at One Stop Stores Ltd. We’re looking for a Shift Leader to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be working in a fast‑paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will take ownership of store activities by running duty shifts, coordinating a team to deliver a clean and full store that exceeds customer expectations and keep the store a safe place to work and shop. Responsibilities Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community Open and close the store, complete duty cover and make sure all decisions are right for customers, colleagues, and safety Act as the go‑to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for day‑to‑day operational queries Support the Store Manager to co‑ordinate seasonal, community and charity events and create a great inclusive atmosphere Ensure the store is always clean, tidy, and well presented Prioritise the replenishment of products that matter to our customers Make sure point‑of‑sale and shelf‑edge labels reflect what good looks like Take immediate action for any overcharges and prevent reoccurrence Proactively manage queues in store to deliver a great shopping trip for our customers Co‑ordinate colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and receive breaks at the right time to fit around trade patterns Be knowledgeable about the store, coordinating others to deliver the practical actions to make improvements Follow company health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same Deliver communication to the team, ensuring they are kept well informed Look at ways to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager Always put the customer first and consider them in everything you do Resolve customer queries, leaving them with a smile on their face Adjust the service you give to each customer to meet their needs Recognise and celebrate colleagues giving great service Understand what may be getting in the way of delivering great service and help remove obstacles Resolve colleague queries in the absence of the Store Manager or escalating them appropriately Ensure the store is staffed appropriately, reacting to short‑term absences/sickness by actively finding cover for shifts Act as a recognised Keyholder for the store, attending alarm call‑outs if necessary to ensure safety and security Monitor and act on internal communications, ensuring messages are actioned timely and colleagues kept informed Coordinate colleagues to meet customer and store operational needs, feeding back to the Store Manager any issues with colleagues in the building during shift(s) Balance time across service and replenishment areas of the store Support the Store Manager in managing absence within the store, ensuring return‑to‑work interviews for CSA Colleagues and reporting absence triggers in line with the One Stop absence policy procedures Build meaningful relationships with the Area Manager & People Partner, escalating relevant issues timely, seeking advice and support when needed, and benefiting from in‑the‑moment coaching opportunities If this store has a Post Office Local, your duties will include day‑to‑day operations of the post office; you must pass a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check, otherwise the job offer may be withdrawn.
