We have evolved as a NHS healthcare provider since 2004 and in the last few years have grown significantly, now employing around 300 staff with a turnover of circa £16m. PML holds GMS contracts, as well as being a GP Federation representing circa 50 GP practices covering approximately 650,000 patients.We welcome applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and circumstances and people with protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010Job responsibilitiesProfessional:Assessproblems presented opportunistically by patients.Providecontinuing care to patients across the practice population.Initiatelaboratory requests and collect specimens as required, interpret specifiedresults and act accordingly.Performholistic assessment of patients attending for ear irrigation.Providea holistic approach to wound management and implement wound care in line withcurrent evidence-based guidelines and locally agreed formulary.ECGPerformholistic assessment of patients attending for cervical cytology smear.Adviseabout vaccinations and injections and ensure they are administered underrelevant policies, guidelines, and PGDs. Adhere to the national childhoodimmunisation programme.Assistin the provision of minor surgery.Recogniseand manage anaphylaxis according to current UK guidelinesBeable to perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation according to current UKguidelines.Obtainand document informed consent (either written or verbal).Ensureinfection control guidelines are maintained.Communicateeffectively with other members of the primary health care team.Anyother duties considered relevant to the post.Managerial:Assistpatients to identify their health needs.Maintainaccurate records in line with practice policy and NMC Guidelines usingappropriate computer software.Contributeto the assessment of service needs.Responsiblefor the maintenance of equipment and stock control: including refrigeration,vaccine ordering, single use equipment, general treatment room equipment andstock and emergency rugs and equipment.Contributea nursing level perspective to the Practice Development Plan.Manageand organise individual patient consultations.Effectivelymanage own time, workload and resources.Preserveconfidentiality of information gained at all times.Educational:Identifypersonal development and training needs in conjunction with the Nurse Managerand Practice Manager.Participatein an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility formaintaining a record of own personal and or professional development.Participatefully in practice audit and quality development programmes.Participatein formal tutorials and informal training of all treatment room trainees, GPtrainees and other allied health professionals in the practiceManagementof Chronic Disease:Todevelop knowledge base and progress in the management of Chronic Diseasepatients within the primary care setting.Diagnosis,monitoring and development of individual management plans, agreeing these asappropriate with the patients and other health professionals.Checkingcompliance with and adherence to appropriate treatments using a holisticpatient cantered approach.Identifyingthe impact of treatment and implementing or recommending changes asappropriate.Researchprojects:Co-operate andparticipate as required in any research projects within the practice.Health andSafety:The post-holderwill assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safetyand security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy, to include:Usingpersonal security systems within the workplace according to practiceguidelines.Identifyingthe risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a waythat manages those risks.Makingeffective use of training to update knowledge and skillsUsingappropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy andsafe way and free from hazards.Equality andDiversity:The post-holderwill support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers andcolleagues, to include:Actingin a way that recognizes the importance of peoples rights, interpreting themin a way that is consistent with practice procedures and policies, and currentlegislation.Respectingthe privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues.Behavingin a manner which is welcoming of the individual, is non-judgmental andrespects their circumstances, feelings priorities and rights.Confidentiality:The post holdermust maintain confidentiality of information in accordance with professionaland PML policy.
