We are looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner in the Looked After Children's Team within Essex. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

The responsibilities of the Senior Practitioner includes:

As a Senior Practitioner you will provide leadership in the team, provide both support and mentoring to newly qualified or less experienced staff, facilitate reflective group supervision, oversee the team’s duty service, deputise for the Team Manager when needed and have responsibility to lead in a practice area.
As part of our Children in Care team, you'll be working with children and young people up to the age of 18 who need our help. Whether they're with foster carers or in residential homes, your goal is to ensure their experience in care is a positive one. You'll visit children and young people in placement, develop permanency plans (including Special Guardianship Orders and adoption), and even help them understand the reasons behind being in care through life-story work.
And for some, your support could be the key to them returning home to their birth family.
The ideal candidate will have:

Social Work England registration
Eligibility to work in the UK
Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)  

Working with Ackerman Pierce you will be guaranteed weekly payment and access to continued profession development, including a dedicated consultant to support you through the interview and on boarding process. The position offers a long contract within a stable supportive team with a great location and excellent transport links as well as being close to central London.
