Overview In this role you will be part of a specialist SAP Basis team primarily providing support and maintenance activities to numerous secure and commercial accounts, with varying landscapes and SAP Solutions across multiple OS/DB platforms. On a day to day basis, you will play a more Senior BASIS role reporting directly to the SAP BASIS Lead, where you will be instrumental supporting the business‑critical SAP Systems for our customers and mentoring the other members of the team where required. You will also be required to deliver and lead key tactical changes and landscape upgrades for client SAP environments. There are also opportunities to become involved in SAP technical delivery projects, and SC level clearance is a requirement for this role or an eligibility for SC. Responsibilities Provide support and maintenance activities to numerous secure and commercial accounts across multiple OS/DB platforms. Play a Senior BASIS role, reporting directly to the SAP BASIS Lead. Support the business‑critical SAP Systems for our customers and mentor the team. Deliver and lead key tactical changes and landscape upgrades for client SAP environments. Lead implementation, support and administration of multiple key SAP Technologies and Solutions (e.g. ABAP, Java, Business Objects, HANA, SoH, S/4HANA, Gateway, Fiori, ERP, BW, PO, Cloud, BTP). Support and lead delivery across multiple SAP OS/DB Platforms (UNIX, Windows, Linux, HANA, Oracle, SQLServer, DB2 LUW, ASE). Manage backup, recovery, HA/DR technologies and processes. Perform SAP technical updates and upgrades. Contribute to continuous improvement and service activities. Work with internal and external customers, anticipating and managing escalations. Participate in an on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours cover. Provide occasional weekend support for project work or BAU activities. Lead cloud‑based deployment projects (AWS, Azure, GCP, Private/Public). Serve as a consultant, presenting solutions and advising clients on SAP technology. Contribute to bids and sales processes. Mentor and coach junior members of the SAP BASIS team. Qualifications SC level clearance (or eligibility for SC). Significant experience in all BASIS areas: monitoring, performance management, backup & recovery, HA/DR, transport management, database administration and management, patching. Experience with change control processes, incident resolution and SAP technical delivery. Knowledge of SAP OS/DB Platforms (UNIX, Windows, Linux, HANA, Oracle, SQLServer, DB2 LUW, ASE). Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Team player with flexibility and adaptability. Desirable: Team Lead experience. Desired Skills One or more SAP Technical Certifications (e.g. HANA, OS/DB migration, BTP). Good infrastructure/architecture awareness (networking, virtualization, storage, middleware, OS platforms). Cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure, GCP, Private/Public). Consulting and client‑facing presentation skills. Understanding of current/future SAP technical roadmaps. Experience across numerous industry sectors. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
