Base pay range Direct message the job poster from Seven Resourcing Senior Application Support Officer Location: Bristol (Hybrid) Contract: 3 months (initial) – starting December Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday Seven Resourcing is seeking a Senior Application Support Officer to join Bristol City Council’s IT team. In this key role, you’ll lead and manage a section of the Application Support Team, ensuring the smooth operation of the council’s critical IT systems and applications. You’ll oversee a team of up to 10 officers, providing day‑to‑day supervision, planning, and direction to maintain productivity and service quality. The team’s work covers system upgrades, helpdesk support, user access management, and service requests — all while ensuring excellent communication and minimal disruption to users and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Manage, develop, and improve Application Support policies, processes, and standards. Oversee daily operations of the Application Support Function to ensure service levels are maintained and continuously improved. Lead and coordinate system upgrades and ensure timely issue escalation to suppliers or senior management. Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver best practice solutions and advice. Analyse performance data, identify improvements, and promote a customer‑focused approach. Ensure compliance with data quality, data protection, and GDPR standards. Support ongoing service improvements and system developments aligned with legislative and organisational change. Measure and benchmark the performance of the Application Support Function to drive consistency and efficiency. What You’ll Bring Strong experience with Unit4 ERP Finance systems, including user support and system management. Proven expertise in the Accounts Receivable (AR) module within Unit4 ERP. Leadership experience within an IT support or application management environment. Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. Why Work with Seven Resourcing?
