Community Staff Nurse

Job Description Our busy District Nursing teams in Christchurch are looking for Band 5 community Staff Nurses to join their teams. Applicants can be newly qualified or experienced, as full training and support will be offered. We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals who wish to provide high‑standard nursing care to people in their own homes. Successful candidates must be able to drive and have access to a car. This fixed‑term role is offered on a secondment basis only for those currently employed by the NHS – permission to be released on secondment is required prior to application. Key Responsibilities Deliver wound care and palliative care to patients in the community. Administer IV medications and injections safely. Manage diabetes care and medication regimes. Provide a range of competent and varied nursing activities, tailored to individual patient needs. Training & Development We offer excellent links to local universities and first‑class training and development programmes. Newly qualified staff will benefit from a preceptorship programme and a specific clinical upskilling programme to support the transition from student nurse to Registered General Nurse (RGN). Rapid up‑skilling and support with new skills are fully backed by the Trust. Working Hours & Conditions We have both full‑time and part‑time vacancies available. Successful candidates will be expected to work weekends, late shifts (until 8 pm) and bank holidays on a pro‑rata basis. Legal & Regulatory Requirements Must hold valid right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available. Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check – the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who have a DBS update service subscription may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
