We aim to make a sustainable difference by significantly improving patients’ health and quality of life, providing effective therapeutic solutions for unmet medical needs through differentiated and innovative medicines in Oncology, Neurosciences, and Rare Diseases.* **Patient-Focused**: The patient is at the heart of everything we do, and improving their outcomes is the deliverable of every strategy.* **Employee Care**: We care for our employees, who are the ambassadors making a real difference.* **Bold Leadershi**p: We attract and develop bold, agile, entrepreneurial individuals who take full ownership of their decisions.* **Growth Opportunities**: We offer a wealth of fulfilling challenges and growth opportunities in a fast-moving, game-changing organization.**About the Role:**The **Scientist Bioinformatician**carries out bioinformatics and computational biology research to support both preclinical and clinical stages needs across all Ipsen therapeutic areas.Develop and implement methods, tools and systems to facilitate and accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries in genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, into novel drugs and biomarkers as well as improved clinical protocols and procedures.**Key Responsibilities:****Support due diligences, pre-clinical and clinical activities when it comes to bioinformatic analysis or data mining*** Understand and integrate the scientific and clinical questions to be addressed for R&D projects and functions* Monitoring of external bioinformatics CROs**Define and implement text-mining algorithm using Natural Language Processing*** Develop pipelines in text-mining to address R&D projects / functions challenges as well as DDs questions;* Develop and maintain an expertise to reduce background noise;* Provide a technological watch on NLP platforms.**Define and implement strategy for data exploration, cleaning, extraction and analysis*** Participate actively, in the definition of data extraction & exploration strategy in close collaboration with stakeholders and other team members:* Develop and implement methods & approaches for acquiring, cleaning, compiling, synthesizing, extracting and reporting information taking the full benefit of all internal & external available data, including RWD sources**Support modelling & simulation efforts in the team*** Support the definition of modelling & predictive approaches:* Support the documentation of the modelling approach, including assumptions, parameters adjustments;**Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of bioinformatics tools & infrastructure*** Perform technical watch and attend to key congresses to be aware of methods, approaches and platforms developed and used, in particular in pharmaceutical industry and bioinformatics CROs;* Develop and annotate bioinformatics pipelines in a “building block” spirit, allowing to share and adapt parts of developed pipelines within the team and for future projects to speed up time to execution;**Specifics of Position, including soft skills*** Be innovative, bold, but pragmatic & realistic when it comes to discuss and implement new data-driven disruptive approaches with stakeholders, in particular when different from the current way to operate;* Contribute to change management through communications and active influence on the way Ipsen can think its development and data strategies;**EHS responsibilities:*** Comply with applicable EHS regulations and procedures.**This is a 6 months Fixed Term Contract.****Qualifications*** **Degree qualification or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, computer science, genomics)*** **5+ years of relevant experience in pharma with hands-on experience building pipelines, analyzing large-scale biologic data, etc.;*** Advanced skills in data science, computational genomics, and proficiency with common bioinformatics tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Biopython, Scikit-learn, etc.)* Solid understanding of human genetics, molecular biology, as well as biological pathways and networks* **Strong R and/or Python programming skills with focus on biologic data*** Strong methodological and analytical skills with regard to machine learning, deep learning, NLP and other AI approaches.* **Fluency in English.**If you feel that this could be the right next step for you, we would be delighted to engage with your application.
