Factory Technical Manager Competitive salary BBF Limited Hull, Humberside Full-time, Permanent The Factory Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and product consistency across the Hull site. This role involves coaching and supporting various departments in achieving technical standards, managing pest control, and deputising for the Technical Manager during audits. The role also focuses on driving continuous improvement in factory practices to eliminate unnecessary non‑conformances (NC’s) and ensure adherence to retailer code approvals. Who are we looking for? Strong understanding of food manufacturing compliance and regulatory requirements. Experience with retailer technical standards (M&S, Tesco etc.). Knowledge of quality assurance and food safety principles. Strong leadership and coaching skills. Ability to manage and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent communication skills to engage with multiple departments. Previous experience in a technical management role within food manufacturing. Experience in managing audits and ensuring regulatory compliance. Proven track record of implementing quality improvements and compliance standards. Hands‑on experience with pest control and factory hygiene management. The role of a Factory Technical Manager Lead and guide the Quality QA team on adherence to QAS and excellent product quality. Review Go canvas report daily. Ensure compliance and consistency of finished products. Maintain audit readiness at all times. Define and implement “what good looks like” standards across all areas. Coach QAs, Production, Engineering, Hygiene, and Warehouse teams on expected standards. Identify and drive changes to factory practices that contribute to unnecessary NCs. Review product holds with the support of the QA manager on the fate of the stock. Attend factory NPD trials. Lead complaint meetings at each site and drive a reduction in customer complaints. Deputise for the Technical Manager during factory walkarounds in audits. Collect and manage M&S and Tesco code approval samples. Oversee and manage pest control processes across the factory. Spend 100% of time in the factory across Blackburn and Shadsworth sites. Work flexibly across all shifts to ensure coverage and adherence to standards. Who are BBF Limited?
