OverviewPrincipal Consultant EICA Engineer (Water) – WSP in the UK & Ireland. This role focuses on delivering EICA engineering design for water infrastructure, supporting tenders, concept and detailed design, and construction/commissioning activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure related projects.Prepare and/or review EICA package deliverables such as technical specifications, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specifications and associated EICA documentation.Review and execute tender evaluations.Participate in proposals, scoping of work, identifying key tasks, packages and developing resourcing/time estimates.Understand requirements in relation to installations related to DSEAR and EICA equipment in explosive atmospheres.Participate and manage inspection, testing, setting to work and commissioning stages relevant to ICA equipment and installations.Attend factory acceptance tests for panel, PLC/HMI application software and SCADA.Coach and mentor ICA discipline junior staff.What We Will Be Looking For You To DemonstrateDegree qualified (IET accredited) in electrical or control engineering, or the minimum of an electrical/control HND with substantial experience.Professional registration with the Engineering Council as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer.Extensive experience in EICA engineering design for water infrastructure, including preparing and reviewing deliverables such as technical specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, control philosophies, user requirement specs, and network architecture drawings.Knowledgeable about DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations for installations.Strong client-facing skills; diligent, collaborative, motivated, and able to work with clients, WSP teams, or independently.Willing to travel to operational and construction sites for surveys, inspections, and testing, while ensuring safety.Practical understanding of electrical safe systems of work.What We OfferWork-life balance with hybrid working policy; flexibility to work from home two days a week and collaborate in offices across the UK.Inclusivity and belonging; welcoming applicants from varied backgrounds and experiences.Health & wellbeing support through the Thrive programme, Virtual GP service, workplace adjustments, and wellness benefits.Flex your time with the WSP My Hour concept, part-time/flexible working arrangements, and extended leave options.Development opportunities, mentoring, and support for Chartership.About UsWe are one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms, with a global team delivering positive, long-lasting impacts through a culture of innovation, integrity and inclusion.
