Salary up to £30,731
40 hours per week.

We are looking to recruit a semi-skilled operative to carry out general maintenance works such as decorating works and minor repairs for example mould treatment/stain-blocking works, patch plastering, joinery work, gutter clearance and minor roofing repairs in domestic environments.
The successful candidate will ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision to diagnose faults and deliver effective solutions to our customers. You will take ownership of work, aiming for 'First Time Fix' on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas.
The successful Repairs Operative candidate will have;
-The ability to work independently using own initiative to resolve problems and defects seeking guidance when appropriate
-Experience of working as part of a team in a multi-skilled environment
-Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the principles of Health & Safety at Work
-Good communication skills
-Excellent customer care skills
-Ideally have an NVQ or equivalent qualification in painting and decorating,
-Experience of working in a DIY environment
-Full UK driving licence
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To provide decoration services within Void properties as and when required, to include but limited to:
* Full room decoration
* Full property decoration
* Updating timberwork, doors to gloss and finish
2. Property Repairs - To assist where practical in undertaking works to ensure that properties remain in good condition
*
Minor Repairs
*
Patch plastering
*
Joinery work
*
Part property re-decoration
*
Mould Treatment and stain-blocking works
*
Gutter clearance and minor roofing works
*
Being a second person to aid and to assist in all aspects of repairs.
Any other duties that the Repairs Supervisors deems within the role and within the set skill base for the role.
3. Estate Management and general Repairs
*
Repairing and replacing of fencing post/panel/ gravel board in minor works operations
*
Removing, relaying, and laying of paving slabs, pavers, kerbs
*
Minor repairs to walls, relaying of bricks and blocks
*
Minor asphalt repairs to pathways
*
Replacement or the fitting of new street signs and house numbers including those required to flats
*
To replace guttering and storm water down pipes to garages and outhouses
*
Fit bollards or defence rails to prevent unauthorized parking
*
To deliver goods, materials, tools, mobile scaffold, and MEWP to site
*
To survey the area and building to make sure that the tower scaffold and MEWP is the correct equipment for the works
*
Inspect the tower scaffold and MEWP before during and after works
*
Deliver the MEWP and scaffold to and from site and erecting and dismantling
*
To collect trade waste from site as and when required
*
To use the Tetra system as and when required
4. To meet Health and Safety policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and good practice, including the undertaking of risk assessments and changing working methods if required to meet these standards.
5. To attend training and competency refresher courses, associated with the efficient management of the role of Semi-skilled Repairs Operative.
6. To undertake any other additional duties commensurate with the role and pay grade of a Semi-skilled Repairs Operative.
