Phlebotomist Location: NHS Bishop Auckland, England, United Kingdom Join our nursing team as a Phlebotomist. The role involves performing venepuncture under the direction of the lead nurse and supporting the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Obtain patient consent for blood sample collection. Perform venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols. Maintain accurate patient records on System1. Label, package, and store samples correctly. Use the specimen log and resolve discrepancies. Ensure timely sample submission to laboratory. Maintain liaison with laboratory staff. Participate in practice audit and local initiatives to improve service delivery. Support shared learning and collaborate with the nursing team, seeking guidance when necessary. Qualifications and Experience Relevant qualification in venepuncture. Good standard of general education. Experience working with the general public. Experience in healthcare setting. Excellent communication and telephone manner. Ability to work as part of a team, manage time effectively, and work under pressure. Follow clinical policy and procedure. Awareness of blood‑borne viruses (desirable). Knowledge of System1 (desirable). Qualified to NVQ level 3 (desirable). Essential Skills Provide quality care. Desirable Skills Awareness of blood‑borne viruses. Contract Permanent, part‑time – 4 mornings from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Pay Depending on experience. About us Auckland Medical Group is a busy teaching practice with over 16,000 patients across 3 sites.
