Join to apply for the Cable / Harness Design Engineer role at MBDA Responsibilities Primary drawing approvals engineer for interconnect designs within the Interconnects team. Interpret cable harness assembly drawings and technical documentation to translate them into physical hardware. Ensure that practical, robust instructions for manufacturing and suppliers are derived from technical documentation. Collaborate with mechanical and electronic design engineers to deliver robust cable assembly design solutions. Support manufacturing teams with electrical support and provide regular communication with all relevant stakeholders. Qualifications Define cable assembly construction based on electrical constraints such as current, screening, signal type, voltage drop, EMC and environmental requirements. Appreciation of cable assembly production/process engineering. Experience of working collaboratively with other engineering disciplines such as mechanical and electronic design engineers. Strong communication skills to facilitate regular electrical support with all relevant stakeholders. Self‑motivated, methodical, logical approach with an appetite to learn and progress while working with peers. Ability/flexibility to travel to other locations, including international when required. Experience of military Defence Standards and working knowledge of D38999 connectors in support of cable harness manufacture is highly desirable.
