Role PurposeYou will be responsible and accountable for the shop and the team in the absence of the Shop Manager. You will operate and run the shop, manage the shop team effectively, assist the Shop Manager and team with the smooth running of the store, ensure high standards throughout the day whilst accepting and paying out bets and delivering excellent customer service. The role encompasses opening and closing the business and, in the absence of the Shop Manager, managing the shop’s operations.Role ProfileJob Title: Assistant ManagerFunction/Department: RetailReporting To: Shop ManagerLocation: Derby East StreetKey ResponsibilitiesSupport the Shop Manager with day-to-day running of the shop and the shop team.In the absence of the Shop Manager, lead from the front in managing the operation and running of the shop, including the following responsibilities:Opening and closing the shopManaging and guiding the Shop TeamCash management proceduresManaging and utilizing the company Time and Attendance system while ensuring adherence from the shop teamLeading by example and driving your team to keep and maintain shop presentation standardsBe a clear communicator by encouraging colleagues to share ideas on how things can be improvedStay focused on the shop’s results to identify opportunities and get the team working to high standards togetherProvide outstanding customer experience for customersEducate and guide your team to deliver excellent customer serviceAccept bets as per procedure, accurately taking and processing customer bets through multiple channels including betting terminals and in‑shop transactions through the EPOS system in a timely mannerAct as a Brand Ambassador, introducing customers to the multi‑channel/digital journeyEnsure the shop adheres to all operational procedures, including cash and security proceduresAdhere to Social Responsibility dutiesEssential Skills and ExperienceAbility to confidently lead a team and inspire othersAbility to build excellent working relationships with colleaguesOperate with trust and integrity and be an excellent role model for othersExcellent communicator with the ability to provide clear guidance and feedback to others (team members and customers)Be adaptable to different situations and lead from the front in bringing new ideas forwardAbility to problem‑solve and think creativelyEnergy and drive to constantly develop yourself and othersCustomer‑service focusedEnthusiastic people personStrong interest in the sporting industry/events and confidence in building rapport and relationships with customersAmbitious and driven to progress within the companyResults‑focused ambition to promote the company brand and get the team working towards high standards togetherDesirable Skills and ExperienceMinimum 1‑year assistant manager/supervisor retail experienceIndustry experience is welcomed but not essential; full training will be provided to expand knowledge of sport and betting topics #J-18808-Ljbffr
