Job Description We are seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our practice in Sutton Coldfield. A rare opportunity has come available for an experienced vet to join our colleagues in Sutton Coldfield. The practice has very low turnover of staff, allowing us to develop all our colleagues. This is ideally a full‑time position, but flexibility to work the shift patterns that suit you allows a real work‑life balance. We can support CPD and certificates. We have visiting specialists, including Orthopaedics. Currently 1 in 3 weekends, with a plan to move to 1 in 6 weekends. Colleague wellbeing is vital for us, and we support this with 2 qualified Mental Health First Aiders in practice. About us With more than 440 small animal practices across the country, Vets for Pets is one of the largest UK veterinary groups. We run locally, giving teams the time and opportunity to support their local community. Our practice in Sutton Coldfield is a stand‑alone facility with 4 consult rooms, an X‑ray room, separate cat and dog wards, a spacious theatre and a dedicated room for dirty procedures. The team consists of 5 vets, 5 registered veterinary nurses, 1 student veterinary nurse and 2 student veterinary nurses completing placement. They are supported by a practice manager, 3 client care advisors and an insurance administrator. Visiting specialists include orthopaedics and heart scans. Role Details The role is ideally full‑time, but flexible options are available. Weekend work is currently 1 in 3, with a plan to move to 1 in 6.
