Position Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Consultant in Paediatric & General Radiology based at University Hospital of Wales (UHW), Cardiff. The post holder will join a team of 57 Consultant Radiologists (including 6 paediatric radiologists) sharing provision of imaging services across Cardiff and Vale UHB to support primary, secondary and tertiary care across a range of specialties. Responsibilities Deliver sessional commitments at the Children’s Hospital for Wales and UHW as part of a developing network service for Paediatric Radiology. Provide paediatric and general radiology services in all areas. Support the 1 in 23 on‑call service for body radiology within Cardiff and Vale UHB and contribute to a planned transition to a 1 in 8 paediatric on‑call commitment. Participate in separate on‑call rotas covering MSK radiology, neuroradiology and interventional radiology. Engage in academic interests, research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine. Qualifications & Requirements Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of the expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview. Applicants must provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history. If currently or most recently employed as a substantive Consultant or a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months, an additional referee – the Medical Director – must also be named. Working Arrangements & Conditions The post is full‑time, though flexibility will be considered for applicants requiring it. Salary £110,240 to £160,951 per annum, a standard Consultant contract for Wales. Visa Sponsorship To work in the UK, candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals require sponsorship to obtain a Health and Care visa or Skilled Worker visa, unless they qualify via another route. Non‑UK/RoI candidates should self‑assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship.
