Overview Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased) Location: Stockport Salary: £45,000 + overtime + benefits Hours: Rotating shifts Contract: Temp-to-perm / Permanent About the Role Our well-established manufacturing client in Stockport is seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased) to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a company undergoing sustained growth and significant investment in their site. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operation of plant equipment through expert fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance. If you’re a motivated engineer who thrives under pressure and enjoys both independent and team working, this could be the perfect role for you. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair breakdowns on a variety of plant equipment, minimizing downtime. Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep machinery running efficiently. Maintain accurate maintenance and breakdown records for all work completed. Monitor and update spares inventory, reordering as necessary to ensure availability. Ensure all equipment complies with current Health & Safety legislation and is kept in a safe working condition. Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings to aid troubleshooting and repair. Work independently with minimal supervision, managing workload effectively to meet business needs. Stay calm and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, time-critical environment. Skills & Experience Strong electrical bias with relevant qualifications (17th/18th Edition). Proven experience with control systems and fault diagnosis. Solid background in engineering fault finding and maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach. Commitment to health and safety compliance.
