Responsibilities and duties Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance work on PLC controlled equipment, HV/LV systems, motors, pneumatic systems and variable speed drives Completing routine inspections and undertaking preventative maintenance work as part of PMM to ensure equipment is consistently in good condition Ensuring maintenance work is properly recorded on the site CMMS Liaising with outside contractors on specific repairs/maintenance work Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety Working a day‑shift basis, up to seven days per week in a row, with rest days after Professional qualifications A time-served apprenticeship with an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering, measurement & control or similar Formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH advantageous but not necessary Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge Prior electrical maintenance experience in a heavy process environment such as a power station, refinery, chemical plant, paper mill, FMCG etc. Experience maintaining and fault‑finding on motors, variable speed drives, switchgear and HV/LV systems Experience maintaining instrumentation equipment such as pressure sensors, thermocouples, flow metres, CEMS, etc. Flexible approach to working routines as this is shift work Salary and benefits of the Electrical Technician role A competitive basic salary Overtime/time off in lieuUp to 10% bonus Other benefits Equal Opportunity Statement Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
