The closing date is 15 December 2025 Senior Physiotherapist - Acute Medicine An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join our team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Professionals and Therapy Assistants working in our Acute Medicine Team at Hull Royal Infirmary. This is a diverse and rewarding role working to support the therapy assessments and interventions for in-patients on our acute medicine and frailty wards, promoting recovery and reducing deconditioning on some of the most acute clinical areas. The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the 7 day service, bank holiday cover, Respiratory On-call cover and the late shift until 8pm on the admission avoidance areas. As a Senior Physiotherapist you will deliver the assessment and treatment of patients who present within acute care, and take on a level of day-to-day responsibility in the team, supporting the Clinical Lead therapists to support the team and develop the service. We are seeking skilled people who have at least 12 months proven NHS/UK experience, can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build clinical networks working in partnership with other agencies to identify and address the immediate need. Main duties of the job This is a Senior Physiotherapist role that requires the post holder to be able to provide essential physiotherapy assessments and interventions at a senior level to support the delivery of the essential in-patient Acute Medicine service. This is an ideal post for a confident and experienced Band 5 Physiotherapist, or an existing Band 6 Physiotherapist, who has post-graduate UK experience, a strong affinity for the clinical speciality of Acute Medicine and feels ready for the opportunity of the challenge of a static senior position in a large, busy, acute hospital Trust. The post holder will be self motivated and aspirational, be able to assess in an effective and timely manner in a rapid paced environment. Pathways will support early recognition of deterioration with appropriate escalation processes in place to maintain patient safety. Support will be provided to enhance operational management skills and the post holder will contribute to service planning, development and teaching. As a Senior Physiotherapist, the post holder will be a role model for their team and pride themselves on delivering high quality care and motivate their team to do the same. The post holder will contribute to 7 day services, working patterns up to 8pm, and contribute to the Respiratory On-call Service.
