Girls Basketball Assistant Coach- Middle School

Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Coach for the Girls Basketball team at the Middle School level. This seasonal position is located at Penn's Grove and is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about developing young athletes both on and off the court. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to create a positive and competitive environment that fosters skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions. Help develop game strategies and tactics, ensuring that all players understand their roles and responsibilities. Provide individual and group instruction to enhance player skills and performance. Monitor and evaluate player progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage improvement. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and hard work. Support the Head Coach in organizing game schedules, transportation, and logistics. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations. Assist in maintaining team equipment and ensuring a safe playing environment. Attend all practices, games, and team meetings as required. Promote sportsmanship and uphold the values of the school and athletic program. Requirements Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball, preferably at the middle school or high school level. Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with athletes, parents, and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment. Availability for practices and games during the seasonal schedule. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required. Background check clearance as required by school district policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
